Hello Impact Family and Friends,
I’ve got to share something that’s been on my mind since Coach Tiff, Zach, and I attended the Perform Better seminar. We were surrounded by some of the top-notch coaches in the industry, and the knowledge they shared was nothing short of transformative. They were diving deep into the best modalities, methods, and overall strategies to build high-performing human beings that don’t break. And when I say break, I’m talking about when the applied force (aka stress) becomes more significant than tissue tolerance—leading to the dreaded pain.
One of the big takeaways? The importance of balancing that high-intensity strength training with mindful practices that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Tai Chi and Yoga were mentioned repeatedly as essential complements to strength training. These practices are all about movement patterns that drive recovery, reset stress output, recalibrate the nervous system, and overall rebalance your mind, body, and soul.
Here’s the awesome news: We’ve got two amazing teachers leading Tai Chi and Yoga sessions every Sunday morning at Impact.
Lan leads Yoga at 8 AM, and Devin takes us through Tai Chi at 9:30 AM. If your goals include regenerating, replenishing, and feeling absolutely amazingballs after a strong week of training at Impact, then I can’t recommend these classes enough.
Why Tai Chi and Yoga Will Get You Reset
Optimize Movement:
- Tai Chi: This practice is all about slow, deliberate movements that enhance your balance, flexibility, and strength. It’s a full-body workout that also helps improve your mind-body connection, which is crucial for performance and injury prevention.
- Yoga: Yoga complements your strength training by increasing flexibility, improving posture, and promoting better alignment in your body. It helps to create space in your joints and muscles, allowing for greater freedom of movement and reducing the risk of injury.
Get Your Mind Right:
- Mental Clarity: Both Tai Chi and Yoga emphasize mindfulness and mental focus. These practices encourage you to be present in the moment, which can help reduce stress and increase your mental clarity throughout the week.
- Stress Reduction: By focusing on your breath and the present moment, you can significantly reduce your overall stress levels. This mental reset is key to maintaining a positive outlook and high energy levels.
Connect with Your Breath and Soul:
- Breath Work: Proper breathing is at the core of both Tai Chi and Yoga. These practices teach you to breathe deeply and effectively, which helps to oxygenate your body and calm your nervous system. This connection between breath and movement is essential for reducing stress and improving overall well-being.
- Spiritual Connection: Beyond the physical benefits, both practices offer a chance to connect with your inner self. Whether it’s through the meditative movements of Tai Chi or the flow of Yoga, you’ll find a deeper connection to your mind, body, and spirit.
So, what are you waiting for? If you’re looking to reset, replenish, and come out of the weekend feeling on top of the world, LET’S GO!
Join us on Sunday mornings to experience the incredible benefits of Tai Chi and Yoga for yourself. It’s time to balance out the hard work you’re putting in during the week with practices that ensure you’re not just strong, but also resilient, focused, and stress-free.
