If we were sitting down together right now—maybe at your favorite local spot with a solid espresso or herbal tea in hand—you’d probably expect me to start rambling about workouts. Or macros. Or why lifting heavy is the ultimate game changer (which it is 😉). But I wouldn’t start there. Not even close. I’d start with this question: “How are you really feeling?”

Not the polite version you throw out to strangers. I mean… truthfully. Are you waking up with fire in your belly, purpose in your stride, and energy surging through your day? Or are you stuck in the loop—grinding, crashing, second-guessing? Because I’ve been there. There was a time I thought the answer was more. More hustle. More caffeine. More control. Less carbs. Less rest. Less grace.

I remember dragging by mid-afternoon, trying to fake energy I didn’t have—still telling myself I was “fine.” I remember the moment I realized that chasing energy the wrong way was the very thing robbing me of it. I wasn’t listening to what my body was screaming at me.

Here’s what I’ve learned since then—and what I’d tell you if we were sitting eye to eye over that cup of coffee:

  • Your body isn’t broken.
  • Your energy isn’t gone for good.
  • And this doesn’t have to be your new normal.

That low-grade exhaustion? The brain fog that rolls in like a storm at 3PM? The cravings, the flat motivation, the feeling like you’re just “getting through the day”?

Those are signals. Not signs you need to tighten the screws, but that you need to realign your system. That you need to rebuild from the inside out. With strength. With movement. With intention. Because real energy—the kind that lasts—doesn’t come from trying harder. It comes from building better.

Here’s the good news: You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need a plan that works for you. One that:

  • Gives you the tools to bounce back when life throws its punches
