Our first month is about building your foundation so you can get strong the right way — with confidence, control, and long-term results.
MONTH 1 AT IMPACT: THE PROCESS
STEP 1: We Screen Your BREATHING (Yes, really)
Most adults live in stress mode. They breathe high into the chest, ribs flared, neck tight, shoulders up — and they don’t even know it.
Breathing deficits change the shape of your rib cage. When the ribs stay “wide” and lifted, the diaphragm can’t function as a powerful stabilizer. That means your core becomes less efficient, your low back works overtime, and your shoulders and hips lose a stable base.
So we teach you how to:
- fully exhale to bring the ribs down
- expand 360 degrees into the back and sides
- stack the rib cage on top of the pelvis
That stacked position is what I call optimum core. It’s not “abs.” It’s organization. It’s the difference between moving like an athlete and moving like you’re bracing for impact.
STEP 2: We Check Multi-Planar Function of the Pillar/Core
Life doesn’t happen in one plane. You don’t just move forward and back. You rotate. You side-bend. You shift. You carry.
So we test how well you stabilize in all three planes:
- can you resist extension (no rib flare / no low back takeover)
- can you resist rotation (no twisting through the spine)
- can you resist side-bending (no leaking at the hips/pelvis)
This is where people get “aches and pains.” Not because they’re broken — because they’re leaking stability. We plug the leak.
STEP 3: We Screen the Big Patterns: Squat, Lunge, Hinge, Push, Pull, Carry
This is where we learn your defaults.
Everyone has a bias. Everyone has a go-to strategy.
Some people live in quads and knees. Some people never use their hips. Some people press with their neck. Some people pull with their biceps. Some people can’t carry without leaning.
So we look at:
- what you’re good at
- what you avoid
- what you need to access more of
Now we have your true starting point — and our coaches know exactly how to coach you.
STEP 4: We Optimize the Skillset of Exercise
Here’s the Impact truth: If you can’t move well, we can’t load you heavy and hard.
So Month 1 is about earning the right to train hard by improving:
- mobility where you’re stiff
- stability where you’re unstable
- total-body integration so the right muscles do the work
This is how you build strength without beating up joints. This is how you outperform poor structure and limiting factors. This is how you become resilient.
STEP 5: We Dial In the Fuel (Because You Need Resources to Adapt)
We can be the best coaches in the world, but if your nutrition is chaotic, your body doesn’t have what it needs to:
- produce energia
- recover
- build muscle
- feel amazing
Food isn’t just “dieting.” Food is construction material.
We start simple and practical:
- protein at meals
- carbs with purpose (fuel training and life)
- fruits/veggies for micronutrients and gut health
- hydration so tissues and joints glide and recover
- sleep so hormones and repair systems actually do their job
- breathing as a daily reset so stress doesn’t run the sho
